Description:
This is one of the three sister bridges on the North shore of Pittsburgh named after the famous baseball player for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Roberto Clemente. It is one of the few plate steel suspension bridges in the world since the design was found to hide cracks and must be inspected often. The feature that saved the sister bridges was the multi-links that made up the suspension chain. Pittsburgh, PA is home to over 400 bridges, more than any other city in the world, including Venice.
